Leo pulled out his tablet in Delaney’s truck and woke it up. “What do you think about Oliver?” The rain had stopped in the middle of the night. He was relieved they’d have dry roads and sunshine today.

“That he’s too dumb to lie about whether he gave Noah the pills or not.” Delaney started the engine. “Or anything else, convincingly. Now we just have to find this booster or old player who’s passing around drugs. If he exists. And the girlfriend Noah was upset about.”

“Agreed. But let’s walk through the plans for our cases before we go off half-cocked.” He pulled the Noah Pinehurst plan up on his tablet.

“You’re really going to make me sit here and do this?”

“It’s getting complex.”

She turned the truck back off.

He handed her the tablet. “I made templates and uploaded them last night. It’s pretty cool. I can just pull up blank ones and fill them in from anywhere. Or add to the ones I’ve already put together.”

“That’s great.” Her voice was chalk dry.

“Read. Then tell me what I’ve missed.”

“Fine.” She took the tablet from him and started reading.

He read over her shoulder, mouthing the words, and nodding as he reviewed his own work.
